Give Thanks

I’m back!!! My one month hiatus turned into 7 due to gearing up for a move (that never quite happened) and the birth of our sweet baby girl in October who is truly precious.

I’m not going to lie though, there are definitely rough days with 2 little nuggets under age 3. Let’s take this past Monday for example. My son started throwing tantrums about 5 minutes into the day when I said it’s time to use the potty. I got up quite a few times during the night with a crying hungry baby. My husband caught a nasty stomach bug from my son the previous weekend which was pretty exhausting in itself. That being said, I am thankful.

My 2 and 1/2 year old can throw a good fit but he has the sweetest little heart. Sunday night before leaving the house, he held onto my legs and said, “Wait! I need to love you!”. Although I am often bleary eyed and tired, I know the days of getting up in the middle of the night will be a memory. I do my best to cherish the times when my daughter and I awake in our quiet little house in the middle of the night.

Yes my husband was sick but it is because he took care of our vomiting son over the weekend so that I could take care of our baby and protect she and I from a nasty virus. My bought with the stomach bug was less than 24 hours and now we’re all healthy again.

Is my life perfect? By no means but I thank God for this messy, diaper and sometimes tantrum filled time that has little hearts and hands in it. I wipe my tears from things not going my way and remember:  In every  thing give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will in Christ for you – 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

I encourage you wherever you’re at in life take a moment and give thanks despite the hardships of day to day living. There is always something to be thankful for.
