First of all, I need to be honest. I am doing project 333 but my closet is not as clean as pictured. We are in the middle of a remodel and move so things are chaotic. The magic of photography. Now that we’re clear, I’m almost one month into my Project 333 journey and I can describe my experience thus far in one word. Ready for it? Here goes…
Uncomplicated.
Wearing 33 items in 3 months has been pretty straightforward. I’m not really into shopping anyway (at least for clothing) and it’s so much simpler getting dressed for the day with a smaller amount of clothing items and outfit options already created.
I’m also no longer wearing things that I “almost love”. Let me explain. Have you ever had an outfit (tops if you’re me) that didn’t fit quite right but you wore it anyway? Maybe you got it on sale or it was a gift. If you answered yes, I’m right there with you. I”m a bargain shopper and love the hunt for a good deal; however, what’s the point of buying something on clearance, when it won’t be worn because of the fit or it doesn’t go with anything else.
I asked my good friend, Melannie, how Project 333 was going for her as a working woman. Here’s her take.

How did you hear about Project 333?
I heard about Project 333 through [Minimalism: A Documentary].
How hard was it for you to narrow down your wardrobe to 33 items?
It was harder than I thought it would be. I thought long and hard about the value each piece was going to add to being in the final pick, so it took me a couple of weeks up until the final moment to decide.
So far is the challenge harder or easier than you anticipated?
The challenge is about what I expected except I need to be more intentional in tracking when I wore something. This is to ensure I’m not wearing the same few pieces over and over in the same week.
Since I am a stay at home mom, what I wear doesn’t matter as much because I don’t adhere to any kind of dress code. There are actual guidelines to what you can wear to work. In a business setting, do you find Project 333 to be hard?
For me, this project has not been difficult in a business setting. I already had a small wardrobe and had a system for what I wore to work so I’ve been able to keep that going.
What kind of feedback, if any, have you gotten so far about the project?
The only feedback I’ve gotten is from co-workers who know I’m doing the project and they let me know every time I wear something that they are glad made the [cut].
